Momofuku Ssäm Bar serves an inventive menu that is constantly evolving. There is no dress code at any of our restaurants. All our restaurants are wheelchair accessible.
What does Ssäm mean?
Anything that is encircled or wrapped.
What kind of cuisine is it?
We serve a constantly changing menu that draws inspiration from flavors and techniques found worldwide while staying true to our New York roots.
Are there menu items for vegetarians (or those with other special diets)?
Yes. We can accommodate vegetarians and dietary restrictions; however, due to our changing menu, accommodations are made on a case by case basis. Please alert your server of specific needs.
Are reservations taken?
Yes. We offer a variety of reservations but save a portion of the restaurant for walk-ins.
For a la carte dining, you may walk in or reserve for parties up to 6 via Opentable.
We also offer private dining.
Can large parties be accommodated at Ssäm?
Large format meals for groups of 3 – 10 are available by reservation through our online reservation site. Prix fixe menus are available for parties of 7 or more. Parties of 7+ wishing to walk-in for the a la carte menu are seated first come, first served.
What’s your walk-in wait time like?
We’re not able to quote wait times since they are difficult to accurately predict.
Can I bring my own wine?
Yes. Our corkage fee is $30 per 750 mls, with a maximum of four bottles per table. Please note, we do not allow corkage for wines that appear on our list.
May I bring an outside cake to my meal?
Please note, we don’t allow outside food of any kind. Ssäm Bar offers a limited number of its own large format desserts in addition to its normal dessert menu. We can also provide Milk Bar cakes and pies to enjoy with your meal if ordered in advance of your reservation date. For more info, please contact us by sending us a message here.
Can I have a private party at Ssäm?
Yes. We can accommodate private parties and also offer large reservation options. For more info email email@example.com.
Do you do take out orders?
Yes. We offer delivery for lunch (Monday – Friday) and dinner (7 days a week). For take out, you can place an order in person or through catering contracts.
Do you do catering?
Yes. Momofuku provides catering as well as off-site events. For more information, click here.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Gift cards can be purchased online or at Ssäm Bar.
How far in advance does one have to reserve?
A la carte and large format reservations are taken up to 28 days in advance. Large format bookings require at least 24 hours notice for Monday to Friday reservations. Saturday and Sunday reservations close at 11:30pm on Thursday evenings.
How do I cancel my reservation?
To cancel, click on the cancellation link in your confirmation email.
For Dry Aged Ribeye and Rotisserie Duck reservations cancelled or abandoned within 48 hours of the time of the reservation will be charged the full price of the dish. Cancelled or abandoned reservations within 24 hours will incur a fee of $50 for the Bo Ssam and $100 for the Seven Spice Brisket.
How do I change the size of my party?
Party size adjustments for a la carte reservations may be made via Opentable. Please note that the maximum number of guests able to make an a la carte reservation is 6.
To change your party size for a Large Format reservation, either respond to your confirmation email, or call us at 212.254.3500 ex 2. Please note, the maximum number of guests able to enjoy the Dry Aged Ribeye and Rotisserie Duck is 6, while the Bo Ssam and Brisket is 10. Parties greater than that are asked to participate in one of our prix fixe menus.
What should I do if I am running late?
There is a 15 minute grace period before we relinquish the table. Please make sure your entire party is prompt and arrives at your reservation time. If you will be late, please call our reservation hotline 212•500•0831.
May I make a reservation for someone else?
Yes. Please have them bring your reservation confirmation.
May I purchase a large format meal for a friend or loved one?
Yes. If a large reservation has been made and you would like to prepay for the meal, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
What happens to cancellations / is there a waiting list / do you allow walk-ins?
Cancelled reservations return to the reservation system. There is no wait list. If you’re a walk-in and would like the Bo Ssäm or duck, please check with your server about availability.
Can I make a reservation by phone?
No. We only take reservations online.
